THE CONCEPT  Outlet Centre shopping villages  give manufacturers and retailers the opportunity to sell items directly to the public. All products are sold at substantial discounts from High Street and recommended retail prices.  Being in an out of town location the running costs are kept low and many customers can reach the Village with ease. The result is excellent value for money.

The Jewellery Outlet Ltd is one of a group of companies specialising in the import, distribution and marketing of watches and gold and silver jewellery.  Within our group we have twenty-three jewellery shops in locations throughout England.  We have extensive experience in jewellery retailing and manufacture and pride ourselves on achieving high standards of presentation at all our shops.

The shop specialises in the sale of our own range of gold and silver jewellery and end of season lines from our retail shops and major manufacturers.  A significant part of our business is in branded watches from major UK and European manufacturers who license us to sell their end of lines or old season models.

Everyone in the team takes part in all aspects of running the shop including setting up displays, stock control, cash handling, sales and display.  As a temporary member of the team you will be involved in many aspects of running the shop.  Clearly the most important part of your work will be serving the customer.  Your role will include:-

1)        Providing sales and service to our customers in the full range of our stock.

2)        Preparing and maintaining the displays.

3)        Checking in stock, restocking the shop.

4)        Cash handling, including use of till, credit card payment etc

 

We are looking for someone until January 2014.

HOURS                                        A rota is planned at least 3 weeks in advance.  You will be guaranteed a minimum of 24 hours per week.  You will not be expected to work less than 4 hours in a session and most sessions will be over five hours. The post will often involve extra hours, above your basic contract, at busy times or when colleagues are on holiday or absent for other reasons.

TIMES                                          Ideally everyone is flexible and able to work any hours when the shop is open. However, it may be that you have certain days or times when you cannot work.  Please show these on your application form and we may be able to plan your rota to keep them free.

                                                                     You will be expected to take a share of Saturday, Sunday and evening working

PAY                                                             £7.29 per hour at age 20 (£6.39 at 18-19yrs) (£4.75 under 18yrs) to rise to £7.67 (£6.72 at 18-19yrs) (£4.98 under 18yrs) after review within 3 months.  Wages are paid every four weeks by direct payment to your bank.  After you have worked for us for four weeks you will be entitled to very generous staff discounts on personal purchases.
