THE CONCEPT Outlet Centre shopping villages give manufacturers and retailers the opportunity to sell items directly to the public. All products are sold at substantial discounts from High Street and recommended retail prices. Being in an out of town location the running costs are kept low and many customers can reach the Village with ease. The result is excellent value for money.
The Jewellery Outlet Ltd is one of a group of companies specialising in the import, distribution and marketing of watches and gold and silver jewellery. Within our group we have twenty-four jewellery shops in locations throughout England. We have extensive experience in jewellery retailing and manufacture and pride ourselves on achieving high standards of presentation at all our shops.
The shop specialises in the sale of our own range of gold and silver jewellery and end of season lines from our retail shops and major manufacturers. A significant part of our business is in branded watches from majorUKand European manufacturers who license us to sell their end of lines or old season models.
All team members work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Our policy is to share the unsocial evening and weekend work hours amongst all members of the team - thereby sharing the more onerous hours.
Part time rates will be paid at a starting rate of £6.50 per hr at 20years (£5.66 at 18 -19 yrs, £4.20 under 18 yrs), rising to £6.72 (£6.05 at 18-19yrs, £4.40 under 18 yrs) subject to successful review.
Four weeks paid holiday per year (after a qualifying period).
We will give you a permanent part-time contract with a guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week, according to the needs of the shop and your own personal requirements. The post will often involve extra hours, above your basic contract, at busy times or when colleagues are on holiday or absent for other reasons.
The team of part time staff are as flexible as possible in the hours they work, and everyone is expected to work extra hours at busy times, especially near to Christmas and when other colleagues are on holiday or absent for any other reason. Please show on the application form if you have any preferences for certain hours or days. Ideally we are looking for someone who is flexible and able to cover varied hours but if there are any times when you cannot normally make yourself available for work please ensure these are shown on the application form.
It is our policy to plan work rotas at least three weeks in advance so you will not be expected to change hours at short notice except in exceptional circumstances. Duties include stock control, cash handling, sales and display. We believe that this makes the job more interesting and satisfying. We place customer service and a high standard of display and presentation high on our priorities. Appropriate training in aspects of jewellery and watch product knowledge plus sales training will be available for all our colleagues.
We have a policy of asking people to work sensible length sessions. The shortest session is likely to be 3 hrs (if doing an evening session from 5.00 until 8.00). Three-hour sessions will only be timetabled if it suits the personal requirements of the member of staff. Sessions will usually be between 4 - 8 hours long.
