Florence Welch lost out on the Best British Female Soloist prize at last night’s (February 21st) Brit Awards but that didn’t stifle her ability to smile and appear stunning in a frilly gown.

The 25-year-old missed out on the gong after rival Adele snapped it up to leave Welch, Jessie J, Kate Bush and Laura Marling empty handed.

The flame-haired beauty did not seem to be too disappointed however, as she stepped out to an after-party in a nude and red-swirled dress that was cut at her thighs.

The revealing ensemble featured a plunging halter neck, while her hands were elaborately decorated in a variety of gemmed and gold rings.

Welch, better known as Florence and the Machine, has enjoyed continued chart success since releasing a cover version of You’ve Got the Love, originally released by The Source featuring Candi Station in 1986.

During the ceremony, the vocalist belted out a rendition of her hit song No Light, No Light, as audiences were no doubt in awe of her fantastic range.

Florence wasn’t the only female singer to revel in the spotlight of an awards show, with American star Lana Del Rey picking up the prize for International Breakthrough Act.

The controversial singer looked radiant in a more traditional off-the-shoulder red dress with a floor-sweeping trail.

The 24-year-old could have been on the way to the Academy Awards considering the elegance of her outfit, which was perfectly complemented with silver jewellery.

Del Ray has made no efforts to hide her taste for the limelight as she has spoken publicly about her desire to conquer stardom.

She has said: “I know a lot of different people. When they are drunk, in the dark of the night they all want the same thing. They all want to be famous.

“It’s innately human to want other people to bear witness to your life. It’s important for people to be watched. They don’t want to be alone. I don’t want to be alone.”

British songstress Adele made a rude gesture to “the suits” behind the Brit Awards last night (February 21st) after they sent comedian James Corden on stage to cut her off mid-acceptance speech.

The 23-year-old picked up two gongs at the ceremony for Best British Album and Best Female Solo Artist, but was interrupted by Corden, who delivered the message that it was time for Blur to take to the stage.

At this, the pop sensation flipped her middle finger to the crowd, but later stated this was aimed at “the suits” as she wanted to ensure fans her action was not directed at them.

Looking stunning in a full-length laced gown, diamond earrings and bobbed blonde hairdo, the singer said: “I was about to thank the British public for their support. They cut me off, sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me.”

The vocalist recently cleaned up at the Grammy Awards after nabbing six prizes, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Megan Fox’s name is loaded with metaphor that rarely falls short of its meaning as she continues to solidify her image as one of Hollywood’s sexiest stars.

This was no less true than when the 25-year-old stripped down to a bikini during a break with husband of two-years, former Beverly Hills 90210 actor Brian Austin Greene.

Sporting a simple muted bikini in black and white, the actress paired the two-piece with a bangle around her wrist and aviator sunglasses, giving onlookers a perfect view of her various tattoos.

Fox and Green waded into the water, perhaps to cool down under the hot Hawaiian sun, with the pair holding hands in a display likely to remind fans just how devoted to each other they always claimed to be. 

Megan’s filming schedule has slowed to a steady pace in recent years, following her stint in the Transformers franchise before British rival Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepped into her role.

In 2011, she starred in Friends with Kids alongside Kristen Wiig and Jon Hamm, and is due to appear in This Is 40, out later this year.

Hayden Panettiere may be best known for playing a cheerleader in US drama Heroes, but she looked a million miles away from being a high school babe last night (February 20th) as she graced an LA event in a glamorous red dress.

Attending the Vanities 20th Anniversary party, the 22-year-old was accompanied by her footballer beau Scotty McKnight, as she wowed onlookers in her chic ensemble.

The star’s full-length gown was paired with sparkling silver heels, a bright yellow clutch handbag and diamond earrings.

It was an uncharacteristic look for Panettiere, who typically sports more funky outfits like shorts, sweaters and trainers, not that those would have been appropriate for the star-studded event.

Last year, the brave actress took on a controversial role in Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy, which was made for TV.

Hayden stepped into the boots of the elusive murder suspect acquitted of the killing of British student Meredith Kercher, who was recently freed after spending four years in prison for the crime.

Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has vowed to cover up her curvier assets after flaunting her cleavage on a night out in London with her footballer beau Scott Sinclair.

The 21-year-old, who used to play Rosie Webster on the hit ITV soap, wore a daring ensemble for her recent soiree that left little to the imagination.

Despite her enviable figure, the actress risked the attractive quality of mystery by wearing a nude coloured dress with slim straps and barely-there bust to reveal a large portion of her assets.

While her makeup was flawless and her accessory choices were more than wise, including hooped silver earrings and a clutch handbag, Flanagan’s fashion faux-pas could no more be overlooked than her bosom.  

Earlier today (February 20th), the celeb took to Twitter to vow she will only wear polo necks from now, admitting she was self-conscious about her controversial dress choice.

She said: “I can’t lie I’m really embarrassed about my boobs.. I just wear whatever dress I think is prettiest.” [sic]

Londoners might catch a glimpse of Rihanna out partying tonight (February 20th) as the singer celebrates her 24th birthday in the capital.

The singer, who is rumoured to be reuniting with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, touched down in the city for rehearsals ahead of the Brit Awards, due to be aired tomorrow night.

The star carried off her quirky style outside a London hotel today, with the Daily Mail picturing her in a college baseball jacket, denim hotpants, silver necklace and boots.

Her look was completed with red-ribbon suspenders, over-sized sunglasses and her new blonde mop swept neatly back in an up-do.

Rihanna took to Twitter to say: “Brit rehearsal went smoove! Next stop, set up studio in a hotel room! I’ll be turning 24 making mu$ic!!!” [sic]

She split from Brown in 2009 after a feud turned physical and the female singer ended up badly bruised in a case of domestic abuse.

Controversy arose last week after Brown received a Grammy Award, with female Twitter fans using the site to suggest they would accept his abusive behaviour if it meant being in a relationship with him.

Amanda Holden stepped out in Birmingham today (February 17th) to debut her post-pregnancy figure for the auditions of this year’s upcoming Britain’s Got Talent.

The 41-year-old, who recently gave birth to daughter Hollie, looked stunning in a knee-length royal blue dress that perfectly complement her blonde hairdo.

The Shrek: The Musical star accessorized with diamond earrings and a grey handbag, as well as polishing off the look with grey-toned heels.

The mother-of-one took to Twitter to showcase baby Hollie to her fans, with the little one tucked in close to her Mum.

Holden had quite a scare during the birth of her daughter, however she appeared to be top of her game at the auditions.

One fan told the Daily Mail: “She looked very tidy indeed, considering what she’s been through, she looked amazing in that dress.”

A native to Hampshire, Amanda Holden was born in Bishop’s Waltham in 1971.

In a stroke of uncharacteristic misfortune, rain hit the streets of sunny Los Angeles, sending pop-sensations The Saturdays searching for shelter under their oversized handbags.

Exiting one of the many fashion boutiques of the hip city, Frankie Sandford was snapped wearing bright coloured bangles as she raised her tan handbag over her head to ensure her short hair style was not dogged by the downfall.

The lean singer was looking the picture of health in a casual ensemble composed of navy jeans, a tan belt and baby-blue long-sleeved top.

Although Una Healy was unable to jet-off to the west coast of America because of her pregnancy, the remaining three band members Mollie, Rochelle and Vanessa all accompanied Sandford on the shopping spree.

Blonde bombshell Mollie avoided putting her large clutch bag above her head to maintain her locks, instead clasping a hand to the side of her face, seemingly to shade her eyes from the downpour.

Sandford recently took to Twitter to post pictures of her ideal Valentine’s Day present, which was a pair of Barbie dolls.

Towie star Lauren Goodger was the victim of loutish thugs last night (February 15th) when her new salon was petrol bombed shortly after 10pm, less than 24 hours after it opened its doors for its first day of business.

Police camped outside the boutique, named Lauren’s Way, until this morning, when Goodger arrived to size up the damage in what must have been a devastating moment for the reality star.

The 25-year-old turned up outside the Buckhurst Hill-based salon looking somewhat dismayed as she sported a black ensemble comprised of a leather jacket, leggings and blouse.

The star offset the look with a trailing white scarf and gold ladies designer watch, while her dark tresses flowed down her shoulders.

Comrade Chantelle Houghton was there to support Goodger, and owned the site prior to Lauren purchasing it.

Despite her high street outlet being closed for business after the attack, there was no mention of the petrol bombing on its associated website, laurensway.com, which was still advertising tanning products.

Heidi Montag looked a far cry from the glamour of reality series The Hills at a petrol station in Los Angeles recently when she stepped in store without any makeup.

The 25-year-old appeared pale and self-conscious as she tried to hide her face behind her hand, which was exhibiting a diamond ring, given to her by husband Spencer Pratt.

Although the star is typically radiant and beautiful, her look was particularly modest on the day in question, however, silver jewellery enhanced her appearance. 

Montag paired a silver necklace and diamond earrings with a bright pink blouse and beige trousers, with her hair neatly piqued behind her shoulders.

Meanwhile, hubby Spencer was hardly his reality star self either, with the 28-year-old displaying a pot belly underneath his oversized blue polo-collared t-shirt.

The pair evidently planned to make the most of Valentine’s Day as Heidi took to Twitter to post a picture of a dining room decorated with hanging love hearts.
