Jessie J has enjoyed a momentous rise to the top of the charts in recent years as she exhibited stunning vocal capability alongside creative lyricism.
Perhaps that is why she impressed her Liverpool fans last night (January 26th) as she performed for them at the Cavern Club – a venue tightly linked to the city’s very own musical pride and joy, The Beatles.
The 23-year-old rocked out in a loose-fitting midi-length black top paired with leopard print tights featuring a split at the thigh where sheer material shined through
Her signature bob haircut was a thing of the past as long black locks cascaded beyond her shoulders, while she accessorised with a thick silver necklace.
Writing a review for the Liverpool Echo, Jade Wright said: “Showing versatility, vocal talent and a relaxed confidence dealing with the crowd, it was easy to see why she was voted Critics’ Choice at last year’s Brits.
“It looks like 2012 will be hers for the taking.”
The Do It Like A Dude singer took to Twitter to thank her audience, whom she described as “amazing”, saying it was “an honour” to be able to perform in Liverpool.
It seems the entertainer may have been in a philosophical mind frame today too as she wisely tweeted: “Life is so precious. Its so important to make the most of it and love it.”
With her busy schedule ensuring she secures dominance of the UK charts, one can only hope the star is taking enough time out herself to enjoy the ride.
Earlier this year Jessie J coached young musical hopefuls on The X-Factor when she joined fellow chart topped and judge Tulisa on the show.
The pair teamed up to decide which groups should go through to the final stages of the competition where the public votes who should win.
Tulisa’s Little Mix went on to take the competition title.
