After the meteoric success of Shamballa bracelets we were curious to see what would be the underlying trend Winter 2013. We knew with Christmas parties being a key influencer at this time of year that sparkles would stay!
Whether you prefer the term glitz, sparkle, glittery or shiny we definitely saw that bling was one of the big trends this Christmas. This wasn’t limited to jewellery but the addition of crystals and diamonds to watches made them irresistible to customers.
So, in terms of jewellery which design was the clear winner? Well, that’s easy…Popcorn Sparkle Bracelets! Available in a variety of finishes, with or without cubic zirconias for that extra bling, there was a definite trend for layering the look. The range includes mesh plaiting and solid colours so the diversity is really there and that’s what appealed to shoppers this winter. We see this continuing throughout 2014 with the popularity of rose gold finishes continuing.
The watch trend wasn’t as clear cut. There was a definite increase in sparkle regardless of brand and we saw the desire for the modern, crisp finish of ceramic continue. On the other side though was the continued rise in functionality, it seems that we want our watches to be feature filled! Casio and Citizen Eco-Drive were the chosen brands for those men who want their watches to be more than a timepiece.
One overriding factor affecting all our customers was the need to grab a bargain without the feel of being cheap; to be honest this is where we always excel and this Christmas was no different for those customers who wanted to get the best deals for their money.
