We love star-studded award ceremonies and film festivals as we can take a look at the type of jewellery that is being worn.

Cannes Film Festival 2012, which started on May 15th, is in full swing giving us plenty of opportunity to see what our favourite celebrities are wearing.

A regular on the Best Dressed lists is actress Diane Kruger and she has not disappointed this year.

On the opening day of the ceremony, she wore a green Giambattista Valli couture gown complemented with a white gold ladies designer watch and matching earrings.

The 'Troy' actress took her ladies watch for another spin last night (May 17th) when she attended the Calvin Klein-sponsored Women in Film celebration.

This time around, she wore her watch to accompany a cleavage-enhancing red dress and white strappy sandals.

She was accompanied to the event by her partner Joshua Jackson, with whom she has been in a relationship for six years.

British actress Frieda Pinto, known for her role in 'Slumdog Millionaire', also wowed on the Cannes red carpet.

On the opening day, she rocked a Michael Angel pale pink dress with a beaded bodice, worn with Louis Vuitton silver platform sandals.

She also accessorised with jewellery, including a ring and white gold earrings.

For the opening night dinner, she chose a black Versace gown complete with a thigh-high split and sheer sleeves.

Fellow British actress Tilda Swinton has also been showing off her eccentric take on fashion at the Cannes Film Festival.

She showed older women how to look fashionable with her choice of outfit for a press conference about her new film 'Moonrise Kingdom'.

Swinton wore a silk blouse, sky blue pencil skirt and heels complemented with a ring on each hand.

The film festival continues for the next seven days so keep your eye out for the stunning jewellery that is being worn by A-listers on the red carpet.

Neon colours are back in fashion with a vengeance this summer so think bright and bold when choosing your outfits.

We may be mistaken for thinking that it's actually the winter with all the rain we've been having but neons are great for banishing the blues and brightening up your day.

One word of warning when it comes to rocking this fashion trend is try to make sure you don't look like you belong in the 1980s rather than the noughties.

All you need to do is coordinate vibrant colourful hues into your wardrobe one step at a time.

If you're unsure about wearing a neon pink or green dress or top, why not try accessorising with neon shades instead?

This trend can be rocked by wearing a neon ladies watch or bright heels combined with a neutral coloured outfit.

Frankie Sandford from the Saturdays showed how neon colours should be worn this weekend (May 13th) when she stepped out in a bold orange gown with a short black cropped jacket to promote the band's new single.

The glitz and glamour of The Only Way is Essex has helped to make the TV programme one of the most popular of recently times and has helped to make household names of some of its stars.

With the arrival of the TV programme and its perfectly preened stars, the trend for following the style of the characters has grown, with girls looking to copy the make up and hair looks seen on the programme.

But it is not just the world of beauty which is seeing the TOWIE effect, as fashion and jewellery have also been following to popularity of out-and-out glamour.

To copy the TOWIE look, the key thing to remember is that big and bold accessories and looks are the way to go.

Before hitting the town for a night out, picking up the perfect accessories to match an outfit is a big consideration, with Lauren Goodger recently being snapped wearing an oversized oval ring set with a large green stone.

The item perfectly matched the green blouse she was wearing and made a real statement when worn with her otherwise demure outfit.

Sparkling jewellery is also a way of dressing up a simple outfit, as Lauren Pope showed she recently wore a ring set with three rows of glittering stones that brought extra glamour to her figure-hugging black bandage dress.

By adding just a small pair of small stud earrings, Lauren's ring was the statement piece of her outfit,

Ladies designer watches are also a big look with the girls on the show, as Sam Farriers, Lydia Bright and Lauren are all regularly seen sporting large timepieces made in a range of precious metals and sporting sparkling details.

To complete your look, a pair of sky-high heels, a co-ordinating clutch bag and a slick of pink lipgloss are all that you need.

Katherine Jenkins has been bringing some spring colour with her choice of outfit as she stepped out for a TV appearance in the US.

The opera singer has been spending a lot of time in the country recently as she has been appearing on Dancing with the Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

Her appearance on the show has been a successful one for her, as she has managed to make it through the first seven weeks and is just two weeks away from a place in the final.

Stepping out into the sunshine, Katherine has been showing off the results of all the dancing on her figure, as her legs looked amazing in a pair of floral shorts and high platform heels.

She teamed the rest of her outfit with some brightly-coloured pieces, as her top was bright blue and her blazer a candy pink.

With such a colourful outfit she kept her accessories to a minimum, as she added just a ladies designer watch to finish her look.

Victoria and David Beckham may be one celebrity couple who have created a lasting marriage, but they are not particularly known for their public displays of affection.

But all of this changed when the pair went to watch a basketball game, as they were picked out in the audience by the Kiss Cam.

During the half-time interval, the big screen shows images of couples in the audience within a pink heart-shaped graphic and prompts them to kiss, resulting in cheers from the rest of the crowd.

The operators were clearly looking to have some fun as they picked out the famous couple, with Victoria falling into fits of giggles and David looking embarrassed.

However, to the delight of the audience, the pair had a quick kiss.

At least Victoria did not have to feel embarrassed about her choice of outfit, as she was wearing a black jacket, stylish blue jeans and a ladies designer watch, with her hair pulled back into a ponytail.

Taking a trip over to Ireland often means only one thing for travellers and it seems Alexandra Burke is now different.

The X Factor winner was in the Irish capital to perform live on the country's version of The Voice but took time out of her busy schedule to make sure she sampled a pint of Guinness.

The singer posted photos to her Twitter page showing her enjoying the drink in a restaurant with her friends.

While her choice of drink may have been monochrome, her choice of accessories was certainly the opposite.

Sporting a ladies designer watch on her wrist, her nails were clearly seen holding up the glass and Alexandra had painted each one alternating shades of light and dark blue.

To give her look a really distinctive finish, the nails on her thumbs were painted bright pink.

The rest of her outfit was far more demure than the one she wore for her performance on the TV show, as she donned a pair of sequined hot pants, a studded bra and a pink jacket.

The latest trend for watches this summer is to find designs that have a strong vintage influence to them.

With the trend for all things vintage set to continue, with vintage clothes and handbags jostling alongside a love for retro hairstyles and makeup, getting a ladies designer watch that will fit in perfectly with the trend is the next step.

Picking out the most important trends for timepieces this year, James Stacey, managing editor for WatchReport.com, said there are going to be two looks that will be on the most stylish wrists.

"Vintage and military styles continue to be very popular and will likely continue as trends. Thin is less of a feature this year, with more focus going to case and bezel material, movement and complications," Mr Stacey explained.

Watches are becoming more popular among female shoppers, with expert Tom Kennett, owner and designer for Kennettonline.com, recently saying that women are now seeing them as a stylish accessory, rather than just a practical device.

Style seems to run in some families and Julia and Emma Roberts have proven this is the case as they appeared together at a film premiere.

The aunt and niece both attended the premiere of the film Jesus Henry Christ and chose to wear monochrome outfits.

Executive producer of the movie Julia went for a chic look with a black dress with contrasting white cuffs and a Peter Pan collar for the first showing of the film, which follows a boy's search to find his father.

She kept her accessories simple by deciding against wearing any statement pieces that would detract from the elegant look of her outfit.

Emma meanwhile put together a stylish modern outfit, with a pair of black skinny jeans and a matching blazer offset by a plain white T-shirt.

The 21-year-old brought some colour to the look by adding a silver ladies designer watch on her left wrist and rings on her right hand.

An emerging trend for wearing watches is seeing the number of women buying timepieces increase rapidly.

The rise in the number of ladies designer watches being sold has been noted by Tom Kennett, owner and designer for Kennettonline.com, who said there is a general view across the industry that watch purchases are on the increase.

He explained that a lot of women appear to be keener to wear watches as they see it as being another fashionable accessory.

While in recent times people have been using their mobile phones to check the time, Mr Kennet explained that over the last year there has been a "push back and people are wanting to wear watches".

He added that timepieces in the mid-price range are seeing very strong sales.

A number of celebrities have turned to promoting watches, with tennis player Kim Clijsters recently featured in a new advertising campaign from Citizen watches to promote its spring summer 2012 collection of Eco-Drive designs.

Kim Clijsters has been featured in a new range of advertising posters for Citizen watches to promote the brand's new collection.

The company is promoting its new range of Eco-Drive watches and Clijsters is pictured next to the bracelet design made in dark grey metal, which has a black face and diamonds inlaid along the edges.

The tennis player is shown in the commercials hold up her racket, with her hair pulled back into a chic style.

She is also shown wearing a simple silver necklace with a small pendant.

Citizen's Eco-Drive watches are created with solar panels installed in them, meaning there is no need for a battery, as well as being guaranteed to work for the lifetime of the timepiece.

Clijsters has been a spokesperson for the ladies designer watches for some time, as she first signed up to work as a spokesperson with the brand in March 2010.
