Boundary Mill is an established shopping destination where exceptional value is offered. Chapelle are located in a prime location inside the Boundary Mill at Colne.
The Jewellery Outlet Ltd is one of our group of companies specialising in the import, distribution and marketing of watches and gold and silver jewellery. We have twenty-three retail jewellery shops and we have extensive experience in jewellery retailing and manufacture and pride ourselves on achieving high standards at all our shops. Our shops trade as Victoria House Jewellers and Chapelle.
The store benefits from a very experienced and enthusiastic team of staff including a full time assistant manager and a team of part time staff.
We stock an extensive range of gold, diamond, and silver jewellery. A significant part of our business is in branded watches from major UK and European manufacturers who license us to sell their end of lines or old season models.
Products stocked in our designer outlets stores include previous season lines, trial merchandise, or manufacturers’ excess production. We do not sell “seconds”, everything we stock is perfect. Our stock includes high quality items from silver at a few pounds up to diamond rings at £3,000.
We give outstanding value for money and our outlet shops are very popular.
MANAGER - Salary will depend upon experience and will reflect the importance that this post has within our business. There is a manager’s bonus scheme applicable after 6 months, there is also a team bonus which rewards high standards in the store. The manager will benefit from five weeks paid holiday (after qualifying period), plus eight statutory Bank Holidays (or time in lieu). A full time 5-day week post the manager is responsible for all aspects of running the shop. Managers have a great deal of independence and autonomy in the way they present their store.The role is wide and varied and includes:-
- Organisation and display of stock including stock control.
- Staff administration including preparing work rotas.
- Maximising the performance of the shop by appropriate leadership of the team.
- Cash handling and banking.
- Liaison with head office and Centre management and staff.
- Ensuring a high standard of service is provided at all times.
- The establishing, and maintenance of, a degree of organisation that will ensure the attainment of maximum sales potential of the shop.
- Staff training and development.
The manager will have a positive attitude to work, colleagues and customers. We are looking for someone who can maximise the full potential of this shop by his or her own enthusiasm and effort. Previous experience in jewellery retailing would be an advantage but it is not a requirement. We do expect that the manager will have had previous retail experience at a supervisory level probably in a similar product range to jewellery where personal selling and relationship skills have played a major part in the work.
We expect that the manager will spend an induction period working at another of our Designer Outlet Stores. This will involve being away from the area for a period of two weeks.
This is a well-respected correspondence style course that involves home study and it can lead on to a full Professional Jeweller's Diploma Course. The company will pay all fees and provide support and books for the Jet 1 course on the understanding that it will be followed through to completion.
After a suitable period we also encourage managers to study for Jet 2 that leads to the Retail Jeweller’s Diploma. Some of our managers are also taking the Professional Jewellery Manager’s course of The NAG.
Jewellery is probably one of the most complex sales environments and we encourage all our staff to continually develop their skills and knowledge.
